We stayed in DC ...

We stayed in DC for 2 days before boarding the AutoTrain 30 min away in Lorton, VA. State Plaza Hotel was an Unexpected GEM. Our room #214 was spacious with a full kitchen with refrig, stove, sink, dishes & cooking utensils. We were greeted by Gerald, an efficient and friendly porter who took us to our room and gave us advice on what to do & see. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The price for a Wed night on 9/1/21 was $146. Breakfast in their cafe the next morning was surprisingly delicious & the portions were generous: Bagel with lox, tomato, onion & cream cheese and I had eggs benedict with home fries. The location could not be better: A short walk to Founding Farmers--a GREAT restaurant--on Pennsylvania Avenue and the monuments to the west. We highly recommend State Plaza Hotel.

Very nice, polite staff. ...

Very nice, polite staff. Great room with a lot of amenities and very clean. Awesome location central to all of the main attractions. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you're going to be in DC for a while.
