Our annual Interfaith Eid Al-Adah Celebration is back - in-person and in the park! The public is invited to this fun celebration on Sunday, June 25 at Bluemont Park Picnic Pavilion. You'll enjoy halal food prepared by Ozfeka Catering, plus games, entertainment, and speakers. And along with the fun, we all gain a better understanding of our common spiritual bonds. Eid Al-Adha commemorates the story of Abraham and Isaac, beloved in Islamic, Judaic and Christian traditions. This story of sacrifice and faithfulness is observed with celebration and giving to neighbors in need. So attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item (canned tuna, soup or vegetables, peanut butter in plastic jars, low-sugar cereals) to be donated to Arlington Food Assistance Center. The event is hosted by Arlington Dems and Arlington Young Dems. However, there will be no political campaigning. Speakers from faith communities and service groups will offer brief reflections on Eid Al-Adha and its message of helping others and working together as a community.
